报告题目(中文):金属与氢,向绿而行

报告题目(英文):Metals and hydrogen: The way towards greener future

报告内容简介:

The production, transport, storage and use of hydrogen as an energy source in a variety of applications is becoming a key technology to assist with the transition to a low carbon energy economy. Hydrogen produced by water electrolysis using electricity from renewable resources such as wind and solar can be stored and used in fuel cells for electricity generation, CO2-free steel production and heating. The transport, storage and use of hydrogen involves the interaction of gaseous hydrogen with metallic materials used for construction of electrolysers, hydrogen treatment units, pipelines and storage vessels. Atomic hydrogen can form by dissociation of gaseous hydrogen molecules that adsorb on metal surfaces or by reduction of hydrogen ions present in water electrolytes in immersion or atmospheric conditions. The latter mechanism is relevant for high strength steels and aluminium alloys used in automotive, aerospace and other industries too. Atomic hydrogen can enter the metal lattice potentially leading to embrittlement and hydrogen-assisted cracking mechanisms. Although the effects of hydrogen on metallic materials have been studied for many decades, the development of a global hydrogen economy and the associated increase in applications involving interaction of hydrogen with metallic materials has resulted in a steep growth of research activities as we try to reach a better understanding into the many aspects of these interactions that are still unclear. The talk will summarize principal results of hydrogen-related research at Technopark Kralupy, related to high strength steels for automotive, aluminium alloys, and hydrogen transport and storage. Open questions and further research trends will also be discussed.

报告人简介:Tomas Prosek graduated at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague in 1996. From 2001 until 2015, he worked at RI.SE in Stockholm, Sweden and at Institut de la Corrosion in Brest, France. He was responsible for construction, building and infrastructure activities with focus on atmospheric corrosion of galvanized and coil-coated steel materials. From 2016, he is leading the Department of Metallic Construction Materials in Technopark Kralupy of the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague. He serves as the president of the European Federation of Corrosion and vice-president of the Association of Czech and Slovak Corrosion Engineers. His research focuses on corrosion protection by metallic and organic coatings, mechanisms of atmospheric corrosion, outdoor and accelerated corrosion testing, corrosion monitoring, and interaction of metallic materials with hydrogen.
